**Information Co-ordinator - Weather (Inside IR35)**

**Contract Term: 6 months**

**Contracting Authority: Network Rail**

**Location: Glasgow**

**As an Information Co-ordinator, your main responsibilities would be**:

- To conduct a constant watch on of the relevant Network Rail weather tools and have a very good understanding of thresholds and weather protocols
- To disseminate accurate, concise, and timely information to relevant staff members within Control and the wider Network Rail community, in accordance with Network Rail company standards and statutory requirements
- Work closely with the Route Control Manager making sure they are fully confident that all the critical weather information that they need to run a safe railway is received
- Work closely with the Weather Operational Delivery Managers to gain more understanding about how weather can affect the railway
- Supporting the Control Team during manning of Gold Command in the collation of minutes and discussions held during incidents, and during normal incident management conference calls
- Supporting the wider Control Team especially during times of adverse weather

**You’ll have**:

- Excellent communication skills
- Good geographical knowledge of applicable Route and ideally adjoining routes
- Knowledge and demonstrable experience of control procedures and instructions
- Demonstrable skill in the use of Microsoft Office package and Control specific software
- Good team working skills and ability to make objective decisions
- The ability to influence others and work under pressure
- Ideally, an appreciation of weather that can affect the Railway
- Ideally, an interest in Weather Observing or a keen interest in Meteorology
