You will have a sound understanding of employment law and experience of working in a fast-paced HR team. You will be an excellent communicator and be able to negotiate, influence and challenge with tact and diplomacy. You will also be a team player that enjoys being hands on and takes a supportive and coaching approach when advising colleagues.

You will have strong employment law knowledge that allows you to provide expert advice on matters such as disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance management. You will have experience of managing long term sickness and referring to and liaising with Occupational Health. You will also be able to build relationships with colleagues at all levels and be able to adapt your approach and level of advice to suit the situation, ensuring that a consistent and fair approach is adopted at all times.

You will be required to travel extensively throughout the South West and you must be available to attend Departmental meetings in our Yeovil Support Centre. A full car licence is therefore essential. You may also be required to stay away overnight on an adhoc but infrequent basis.

Whilst operating at CIPD Level 5 or above would be beneficial, we are more interested in the experience you have. Being a knowledgeable HR generalist within the private sector and ideally with multi-site experience is what we are looking for. You will be passionate about HR and be able to use this passion to identify areas for improvement in areas such as recruitment and absence management.
