We are seeking a full-time permanent Project Officer with experience of working in a higher education environment to provide effective management for a diverse range of projects across our education provision within Warwick Medical School.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have excellent communication, organisational and team working skills.

Warwick Medical School operates a distinctive portfolio of high quality education programmes and is home to the UK’s largest graduate-entry MB ChB programme, full and part-time research degrees and professional development across the healthcare sector, alongside our new UG provision.

Job purpose

To work with members of the WMS Education Management Team to plan and implement projects to support service and academic development in line with WMS strategy.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Scoping, planning and managing of all project activities and deliverables such that progress is maintained and monitored, and agreed outcomes are delivered in a timely way.

2. Consulting and engaging key internal and external stakeholders in the development and short and long term delivery of the projects.

3. Identifying and sourcing information and data required to progress and enhance projects including financial implications

4. Exercising good prioritisation and decision-making skills

5. Developing and implementing effective communication strategies for projects which utilises an appropriate range of communications channels.

6. Monitoring project progress and writing reports as needed detailing progress against project deliverables

7. Provide financial reporting to the Senior Management Team in terms of spend, commitment and income against agreed financial targets to facilitate planning and decision making

8. Secretary to the WMS Education Committee, preparation of agendas, minute taking, oversight of collation and circulation of papers

Specifically, in the first year of the post, the post holder will work on the following projects:

- Management of the project to scope the expansion of medical student places at WMS and clinical placement capacity through consultation with key internal and external stakeholders, for example Academic Leads and our NHS partners, from both a business case and space management perspective, to produce a competitive bid submission in accordance with government guidelines.
- Coordination and planning for the refurbishment and reutilisation of space to accommodate an exciting new PG and UG hub on Gibbet Hill providing our student community with a dedicated study and social space.
- Management of the project to scope the development of a new clinical anatomy and clinical skills training facility providing advanced facilities for the training of Warwick medical students.
