This commitment allows us to realise the park's vision effectively and sustainably. **Main purpose of the job**: As the face of the security department, the main purpose of the role is providing excellent customer service whilst contributing to protecting the security and safety of buildings, equipment, staff, tenants, and visitors to Discovery Park. Responsible for delivering security services across the park including patrolling the property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, responding to alarms, reporting irregularities, supporting incident investigation, report generation and informing violators of policy and procedures, responding to and/or liaising with relevant authorities in the event of an onsite incident/emergency. You will operate control room systems including CCTV, alarms, and computers. Appropriate familiarisation, instruction, and training will be given to enable individual officers to perform these duties. Working 24/7 you will be responsible for delivering outstanding security services at Discovery Park. **Essential duties and responsibilities**: - Controlling access at designated gates and entrances. - Deterring, preventing and escorting unauthorised persons away from or off the premises always ensuring safety. - Checking and issuing access passes including temporary access passes to visitors, contractors, and permanent park personnel. - Remotely operating security barriers and gates as required. - Escorting visitors around the park. - Patrolling assigned areas in accordance with managers and team leaders’ instructions. These patrols will be required to be completed by foot and/or vehicle day or night under all weather conditions. - Reporting on, and where required enforcing Discovery Park parking and traffic regulations. - Ensuring the safe and secure issue, custody and receipt of keys to authorised personnel and maintain the key register. - Provide information, directions and assistance professionally during any contacts with Discovery Park personnel, visitors and members of the public. - Use of a hand-held radio set. - Producing simple, factual (written and/or verbal) reports in a brief, clear and accurate manner, containing all the required and necessary details. - Escorting products & materials as required. - Operating a computer terminal to enter and retrieve data, maintain databases, including access control and other records and databases, conduct routine searches including
