**The role**:
The last 12 months have brought significant change globally and for Green Origins it has brought opportunity but with additional complexity accompanying it. We have just launched a new warehouse presence in the EU to support our EU customers and are now embedding new procedures to manage the two stock holdings.

We are a technically-led food business with our production and warehouse facilities at the heart of our business. Our excellence in these two areas has been responsible for us achieving AA in our four BRC audits to date.

**What will you be doing?**

**People Management**
- Manage warehouse staff workload by distributing tasks to the most relevant individuals, striking a balance between having staff work to their strengths and developing staff knowledge of a wide variety of processes to support resilience. Maximise the value of “downtime” to address project/proactive work.
- Recruit, train, support and assess all new warehouse staff and identify skills and knowledge gaps in existing operatives to ensure a multi-skilled department performing at peak efficiency.
- Provide leadership to the team over and above managing their workload. Leading daily warehouse meetings, ensuring that all departmental issues are clearly communicated, and follow-up actions completed.
- Performance management of staff, including appraisals of job performance, timekeeping and attendance.

**Process Management**
- Manage a wide variety of processes across goods in, internal stock movement and goods out (pallets, parcels and ecommerce).
- Plan staff resources in line with workload demands over a daily, weekly and monthly timeline.
- Manage the communication between the warehouse and various internal customers such as Supply Chain, Operations, Production, Technical and Sales.
- Ensure accurate completion of all scheduled audits and stock checks and the relevant paperwork is being completed by the wider team.

**Stock Management**
- Manage the rework of stock e.g. relabelling.
- Maintain accurate stock records, maintaining the stock count and reconciliation process using relevant systems.
- Manage space utilisation in the warehouse, ensuring proper segregation and easy access to stock.
- Ensure internal stock movement is done according to operating procedures and recorded appropriately e.g. moving stock to production.

**Health & Safety/Food Safety/Food Defence Compliance**
- Be part of the site H&S and Food Safety team (HACCP).
- Adhere to all site H&S, Food Safety, Quality and Hygiene policies and procedures; reporting all deviations from these procedures. Ensure the successful implementation of these policies.
- Manage warehouse related non-conformance investigations.
- Manage 3rd party maintenance schedule and partners.

**Process Improvement/Business Transformation**
- Identify opportunities to make processes LEAN through observation and while undertaking activities.
- Participate/Lead formal process improvement projects focused on key business drivers including resilience, efficiency, cost and capability.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture within the warehouse making it second nature for all staff.
- Make necessary changes to the warehouse to support the scale-up of the business.

**Inter-departmental Collaboration**
- Provide necessary information to other teams that Warehouse services.
- Be the representative of the Warehouse at management meetings providing the “view” from the Warehouse on company initiatives.
- Manage services for internal departments that Warehouse supports.

**What should you have experience of?**
- Hands on people management covering all aspects from recruitment, mentoring, performance management etc
- A warehouse supervisory role, ideally in a food warehouse. Exposure to BRC and Organically certified warehouse would be a definite advantage.
