Children's Home Support Worker

**Job Type**: Residential Child Care Officer
**Salary: £11.20**
We are currently looking to recruit experienced and qualified permanent and relief staff within our established Neath and Port Talbot homes.
At D & S Care we expect our staff to provide a highly caring approach and to build excellent relationships with our young people through our naturing ethos.
We are child-friendly and very person-centred, supporting them to achieve their full potential and explore new opportunities and interests.
- Work within agreed policies and procedures. Report any shortfalls to the line manager, particularly health & safety concerns and appropriate management of care plans and incidents relating to young people.
- To work with the rest of the team in developing a consistent approach to care within the home.
- Contribute to a full record-keeping system on a daily basis, as is laid out in the policies and procedures. To attend all team meetings as appropriate.
- Work in a way, which contributes to the health, safety, welfare and general wellbeing of all our young people. Ensure awareness of relevant safety procedures including risk assessments and fire procedures. Promote healthy lifestyles for young people within care plan guidelines.
- Act as a facilitator and key worker for young people. Act as their advocate in all aspects of care both within and outside their home
- Act as a positive role model for young people. Ensure that personal conduct is appropriate,
- Contribute to a full therapeutic service for young people, providing appropriate levels of activity, stimulation, and direct work
- Liaise with outside agencies as required in a professional and proactive manner at all times
- Undertake key worker duties when required in line with agreed policies and procedures
- Participate in the development of good relationships with the local community with the aim of integrating the project and young people within the community as far as possible.
The following qualifications is required but not essential.
NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care - Children and Young People
QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care - Children and Young People. Applicants must also have at least one year experience of working in a residential childcare setting.

**Salary**: £21,548.80-£22,704.00 per year
