**About the role**

Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit a Senior Commercial Officer to join a newly formed Performance Support Team within Babcock’s Nuclear Sector.

The Performance Support Team is a cross functional team of commercial, project and finance roles who sit within the Nuclear Sector at Babcock and provide central management and governance to Babcock’s Future Maritime Support Programme (FMSP) contracts with our customer, the UK Ministry of Defence. As the Senior Commercial Officer, you will be part of a small commercial team who will be responsible for:

- FMSP Change governance:

- leading on contract changes which impact the different FMSP Contracts including administering the FMSP change register and associated process
- Providing tactical support to Lot leads on complex / high value changes- Due Diligence of claims
- Provide due diligence of claims and track any commercial issues and risks to ensure accuracy and swift resolution.- Reporting and tracking
- Track SSCR regulatory changes and promulgate the impact to the FMSP Contracts
- Interface with finance to ensure Babcock meets the extensive reporting requirements of the contracts
- Track the FMSP contract obligations and work with the teams to ensure we meet our contractual commitments
- Track and co-ordinate on legal issues and spend
- Provide analysis of change metrics and regularly report against these- Stakeholder management
- Interface with a wide range of stakeholders from internal (commercial teams, finance, supply chain, project, technical) to commercial MOD customer.- Additionally, you will:

- Develop, review and update commercial processes both at a local contract level and to ensure compliance with Babcock Group policies
- Own and manage the commercial SharePoint site and seek to make improvements in data management
- Provide standardisation across the FMSP contracts in terms of templates and processes
- Provide commercial support to exit and close out of expiring contracts to manage liabilities.
- This role reports into the Head of Commercial - Performance Support Team.

**What do I need to do the role?**
- You will have excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
- You will have excellent interpersonal skills
- You will have experience in a commercial defence environment
- You will also be educated to degree level (or equivalent experience)

**Grade**
This position is within the **Central Services** business unit as a** Grade 6 **which has a salary of** £46,589.00 **with DRDL Terms and Conditions.

This role is based at Devonport Royal Dockyard which is located in the vibrant city of Plymouth, Devon in the south west of England. Plymouth is a city with a long and proud military history and more than its fair share of heritage.
