At HMRC we have one of the largest data sources across government. As part of the Data Sharing and Acquisition Team, the Data Sharing Service Team facilitates a wide range of Other Government Departments (OGDs) access to HMRC’s data where it is legal and proportionate to do so.
The Data Sharing Service Team manages requests from Other Government Departments (OGDs) and Devolved Authorities for access to HMRC’s data. Facilitating data shares is an exciting role that will appeal to those looking for a challenge and an opportunity to further develop their stakeholder management, organisational and communication skills.
**Job description**:
You will work collaboratively with OGD and HMRC colleagues to produce governance documentation to support the sharing of data, ensuring content captures legal basis, reason for sharing, use of data and GDPR compliance.

**Person specification**:
- Managing complex and demanding stakeholder relationships in an effective way whilst maintaining HMRC’s ethos and values of courteousness, professionalism and integrity
- Managing data share requests during high level impacting stage. Confirming legal gateway, GDPR compliance, proportionality and uses of data prior to agreeing to share any data
- Production of key governance documentation, including requirements documentation, MOU, DUA, DPIA ROPA and project documentation, working collaboratively with HMRC and OGD stakeholders to produce these
- Maintaining and tracking finance forecasts, liaising with Finance colleagues within HMRC and OGDs to recharge HMRC resource and delivery costs
- Secretariat support for project and governance meetings
- Support reviews of governance documentation and data shares to ensure they are still relevant
- Oversee the financial management of Data Share delivery projects, which will include management of budgets, forecasts, approvals, actuals and accruals of IT spend
**Essential Criteria**:
- Good stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues at all levels
- The ability to multi task, with good planning and organisation skills
- Ability to make sense of complex information and interpret findings in a clear and concise manner both to colleagues and internal/external stakeholders
- Confident, flexible and able to work on own initiative with limited direction
**Desirable Criteria**:
- Awareness of GDPR principles and governance documentation MOU, DPIA and Data Movement requests would be useful
- Experience of tracking financial management within projects

Team members that are moving offices as a result of the Locations Programme will be entitled to a Moves Adjustment Payment for three years where they incur additional costs. This is calculated based on the difference between the costs of travelling to and from the new and old office, over a weekly period.
