Our client, a leading logistics business, are looking for a senior Operations Director to join the Senior Leadership Team.
In this newly created role, you will ensure an optimal and efficient operation of logistics, transport and customer service across the UK and develop operational strategies that guarantee delivery of best-in-class service.
Responsibilities include:
*Leading and developing the operations strategy and operational plans for the distribution and transfer of products and services to customers
*Ensuring optimal and efficient resource and budget management including staffing, agency workers and operational expenditure
*Developing and implementing policies and procedures on operations methods, processes, equipment and facilities
*Partnering with the Commercial Team to review sales strategies, development initiatives and growth opportunities to further enhance the overall business
*Collaborating with appropriate stakeholders to assess operational impacts of acquisitions or partnerships and develop integration activities
*Supporting the Managing Director to build the overarching UK strategy
*Minimum 5+ years experience in a senior operational leadership position
*Extensive experience in logistics, warehousing, transportation or customer services
*Proven track record in developing and executing strategies to drive transformation, financial efficiency and consistency within a fast-paced environment
*Experience of leading and transforming efficient customer service teams
*Highly self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude, strong work ethic and critical attention to detail
*Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead, coach and mentor colleagues of all levels
*Excellent planning, organisational and project management skills, with a proven ability to lead and deliver large complex initiatives across a wide network
*Robust financial management and analytical skills
*Flexibility and responsiveness to change, with the ability to lead others in a dynamic environment
