**About this job**:
An exciting opportunity to join Barking and Dagenham's Statutory SEND service, as the Borough undergoes a huge development of building new homes and creating new employment opportunities, that spans over the next 5 years and beyond. In line with these new Borough wide developments, we also have aspirational plans for the Education, Health and Care (EHC) Team and require resilient individuals to join us in making our plans a reality. Barking and Dagenham is one of the most culturally diverse Boroughs in London and we are keen to build a team that reflects the population of our residents, so applicants from all backgrounds are welcomed and encouraged to apply. You will be responsible for: - The coordination of EHC needs assessments, for children and young people age 0 - 25 years old, in accordance with the Children and Families Act 2014, and the SEND Code of Practice 2015 - Effective management and oversight of an allocated caseload of children and young people with EHC Plans, ensuring that their identified needs are met with appropriate support, resources and placements.
**Special requirements for this post**:
You will have working knowledge and understanding of appropriate legislation that underpins the statutory work that we do including; The Children and Families Act 2014 and The SEND Code of Practice 2015. You will have experience of working with children, young people and their families, with a commitment to improving educational outcomes for children and young people with additional needs.

You will be a self-motivated individual, with a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people with additional needs. You will also have the innate ability to prioritise your workload to ensure that statutory deadlines are met in a timely way.
