This is an exciting opportunity to join Bath and North East Somerset Council (B&NES) who are at the forefront of integrated working with the CCG.

The two posts will be based within the Specialist Commissioning Team, which commissions a range of services for adults with learning disabilities, autism and physical and sensory impairment and mental health.

We are looking for two dynamic, enthusiastic individuals who have experience of commissioning and procuring a range of care and support services. The strategic Commissioning Officer roles who will undertake the commissioning of good quality, person centred and safe integrated health and social care services to deliver positive outcomes for people who require care and support. Although employed by the Local Authority, the post holder will work across B&NES Council and BANES CCG

Key areas of responsibility will include:

- Taking the lead for the commissioning of a portfolio of services across the full commissioning cycle including the development of commissioning strategies and the performance management of a designated portfolio of commissioned services which will include:

- learning disability and autism
- physical and sensory impairment
- mental health
- Supported Living
- Residential care
- Day opportunities
- To contribute to the development of outcome based commissioning and monitoring approaches.
- To develop innovative contracting approaches to achieve positive outcomes for adults using Specialist Services.
- Responding to the NHS 10 year plan for improving the quality of care for people with mental health needs, learning disabilities and autism and reducing inpatient admissions
- An engaging and collaborative style, able to develop effective partnerships
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Significant commissioning and contract management experience in a health and social care setting
- A creative and innovative approach
- The ability to lead and manage change
- Strong working knowledge of current legislation and best practice relating to both health and social care for those with learning disabilities, autism, physical and sensory impairment.

Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away.
