We're looking for an **Income officer**to join the team on a **secondment (Up to 12 months)**
As an **Income Officer,**you will work within the Income Team to deliver excellent and innovative customer service. Your focus will be on maximising income, minimising arrears, sustaining tenancies, and improving the quality of life for our residents.
The position will be on **12 month secondment**and on completion you'll return to your current role. You'll be required to work for **18.5 hours**per week
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential
**What skills, knowledge and experience will I need to be an Income Officer**:
**Essential**:
- Experience in managing a portfolio of cases.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the needs of the customer and to be able to communicate verbally, or in writing, clearly and concisely.
- Willing to work in the “LHP Way”, demonstrating our values of Customer First | Together | Listen, Act & Learn, in everything we do.
- Ability to develop and continuously improve services.
- Ability to meet and exceed individual and team key performance indicators.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
**Desirable**
- Qualification in Housing and/or Customer Service.
Proven experience of presenting arrears cases at Court.
**What are the key responibilities of an Income Officer?**:
- Managing a portfolio of accounts through the arrears process, including enforcement, attending court for possession cases, and evictions.
- Ensuring good working relations between the Income Team and all other LHP departments, with particular focus on fostering a “One Team” and “Customer First” culture.
- All income management functions that support the core landlord and legislative functions.
- Supporting community and customer engagement, which includes customer participation, attending consultation events, and area development activities to ensure that local environments are well maintained.
- Managing a patch of accounts by maximising income and minimising arrears, agreeing and setting up payment plans for arrears and monitoring for effectiveness and enforcement.
- Managing serious arrears cases through the arrear’s recovery process. This includes the preparation and presentation of cases at Court for all associated legal action for possession and enforcement, alongside the ongoing management and monitoring of these accounts. This includes the Eviction process.Establishing and maintaining positive partnerships with customers, external organisations, and others, to ensure that customers can access available services that will assist them to manage their homes, pay their rent, and contribute to their communities.
