Building a strong Commercial Function in Government, and with it the right commercial capability, is at the heart of a far-reaching programme of Civil Service reform.

This role will sit within the GCO, but based in our Cabinet Office - CCT - Strategy Assurance & Standards commercial team delivering departmental objectives.

**Job description**:
They will provide support to a portfolio of departmental / wider public sector teams, across multiple policy areas of the Playbooks. Whilst support will be tailored it will focus on supporting departmental teams in their interpretation and implementation of the Playbooks and Sourcing policies.

The Implementation Lead role is currently being refreshed to reflect a more targeted approach on specific policy challenges as driven by user need and demand.

**Person specification**:

- Ongoing engagement with a portfolio of departments/ALBs.
- Focus on our On the Shoulder Support (OTSS) Offer.
- Providing tailored upskilling, advice and recommendations.
- Communicating Playbook updates.
- Sharing good practice including delivery though the Masterclass series when appropriate.

**Technical skills**:
We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

- **Commercial Focus** - A strong commercial background, which demonstrates programme management or commercial experience, ideally in more than one organisation
- **Builds Relationships** - An ability to work with a range of stakeholders (often senior), working collaboratively with colleagues from a cross-departmental team, providing clear advice and support
- **Strategy and Policy Development** - An ability to work autonomously with little supervision, exercising sound judgment and taking the initiative
- **Understanding Sourcing Needs** - Experience dealing with complex, novel or contentious sourcing challenges
- **Contract and Supply Management** - Strong customer service and focus on delivery with the ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances and tight timescales.
