This is an exciting time to join an experienced and growing organisation and be part of our friendly, supportive team with scope for career progression. We are looking for an experienced People Team Advisor to join our People Team at our head office in Hythe.

As a specialist childcare provider New Forest Care works with children who can display challenging behaviour and present with emotional and behavioural difficulties, ADHD and autism. A therapeutic approach, based on DDP and PACE, and putting our children at the centre of decisions, are integral to what we do, even our policy writing.

**Areas of Responsibility**:

- Build effective working relationships with managers at all levels, providing first line advice and guidance on all aspects of HR including recruitment, terms and conditions of employment, payroll, grievance and disciplinary matters, and performance management issues, whilst ensuring compliance with employment legislation and NFC policies.
- Adhere to processes so that recruitment of staff is in accordance with safer recruitment strategies and good practice requirements. Attend formal interviews as necessary and ensure that pre-employment recruitment processes are strictly adhered to for all new employees and consultants to NFC.
- Undertake quality assurance checks on onboarding processes to ensure these have been completed to a high standard and finalised, in-line with Ofsted and Children’s Home Regulations 2015/18.
- Manage investigations and support the HR Manager with complex employee relations issues; specifically, investigations into conduct, capability and grievance matters and implement disciplinary procedures as required. Liaise with company employment law solicitors where necessary.
- Provide advice and guidance to managers on absence management issues and return to work cases. Process referrals to and liaise with Occupational Health/medical professionals as required.
- Manage and monitor sickness absence patterns/trends, arranging absence review meetings with employees in-line with policy and implement remedial action.
- Manage requests relating to family leave such as maternity, paternity, and shared parental leave.
- Oversea flexible working requests and support managers to deal with these in-line with employment law.
- Liaise with managers and implement employee health risk assessments relating to illness, injury or pregnancy, as required.
- Process resignation/leaver information including calculation of any payments owed to the employee or NFC.

Update and maintain records on the HR system as necessary, and provide accurate and timely reports as and when required.
- Contribute to the review and development of HR policies and procedures in accordance with employment law and company processes.
- Alongside the HR Manager, contribute to the continuous development and improvement of the HR function within NFC.
- Liaise with outside agencies as appropriate.
- Keep self professionally updated with relevant changes to employment law.
- Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of NFC.

Undertake other duties as requested as commensurate within the role.
