We are now looking to recruit for a children's residential home in Abingdon a Children's support worker - Charity. In this role youwill safeguard and work with special needs children by offering them support in the residential home and the community. If you hold a strong passion for social care and supporting children and young people this is a perfect role moving forward in your career. The residential home in Abingdon is owned by a large children's charity that has excellent reputation and is basically the founder of residential social care services. They have great structure and been rated Outstanding Ofsted for most of their services. Children's support worker - Charity is a full-time 37h/week role but they are open to negotiate part-time hours as well like 30h/week to accommodate your situation. Inside the residential home there are 6 children between the age of 8 to 16 years old. Theyhave a range of health and additional needs; most of them have an autism diagnosis and other learning needs. They also have emotional needs, and some of them are non-verbal. One child has epilepsy. As a Children's support worker - Charity you will work on shifts during the day 7am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm, and if wanted, having the possibility to increase your salary by taking night shifts. **Benefits**: - Permanent contract or long-term locum contract - In-house built training academy ->access to specialist training, easy career progression, support with taking NVQ diploma - Shifts are only day-time, no sleep-ins or waking night is involved(only taken if wanted to) - Large charity with very good reputation **Requirements**: - any experience of working with children in a social care setting, previous exp as: support worker, care worker, social worker, residential childcare worker - willingness to undertake NVQ level 3 in childcare - support with this is offered The salary is between £21,000 - £27,000 dependent of experience.
