Project Worker
At Connection Support, our team of staff members and volunteers work alongside people to overcome life’s challenges, with the goals of solving homelessness and achieving independence. We do this through our values of empowerment, collaboration, compassion and taking a personalised approach in all aspects of our work.
**Are you looking for a role where you can truly make a difference? Do you have a passion for supporting people who are experiencing homelessness?**
We are currently recruiting a Project Worker to join the NRPF team.
The No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF), funded by the Oxfordshire Homeless Movement, helps people experiencing homelessness in Oxfordshire who have lost or don’t have access to state-funded benefits and housing. Working in partnership with Aspire, Asylum Welcome, Soha, and Edge housing, we help people get their lives back on track and are able to offer dignified accommodation.
**About the role**
Signposting and supporting to access and provide information on benefits, housing options, tenancy rights, mental health or substance misuse support, and improving practical life skills such as budgeting, paying bills and planning meals, you will support your clients to live independently and empower them to speak up for themselves.
You will attend meetings and liaise with project partners and other agencies and contribute to decision-making to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
The role is part time 22.5 hours per week, supporting clients across South Oxfordshire. You may at times be required to support clients across Oxfordshire, so a driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
Salary £22,675 - £25,380 per annum, pro rata, dependent on experience.
**About you**
We welcome anyone with lived experience or has experience working with vulnerable or disadvantaged people in society, either professionally or as a volunteer.
You have a natural ability to connect with people and understand that each person is different, so actively listening, having a patient calm approach, and providing a flexible individualised approach is what’s needed to motivate and encourage people. Ideally, you speak either Kurdish, Arabic or Farsi, although this is not essential.
You are organised and have experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook, as you will be recording, monitoring and updating outcomes, and writing case notes for your clients.
Above all, you have a passion for wanting to make a difference.
**Why work for us?**
We have been named as one of the top 25 charities to work for in the UK by Best Companies. The wonderful people at Connection Support are committed to supporting everyone in our society to become safely and sustainably housed, and to live as independently as possible, so you will be joining an organisation that makes a difference to its communities and will also support your development, offer extensive training, and truly value your dedication and commitment.
We also offer 30 days annual leave (pro rata for part time), plus bank holidays, sick pay, and an enhanced benefits package which includes cover on health benefits, the ability to sell a week’s annual leave, eco travel incentives, childcare discounts, retail discounts and much more.
Connection Support is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Connection Support is committed to being a proactively inclusive organisation and ensuring good EDEI practice is embedded in the workplace culture.
