We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Head of Procurement to join our team. As the Assistant Head of Procurement, you will work closely with the Head of Procurement to manage the procurement activities of our organization, ensuring that goods and services are obtained in a timely and cost-effective manner.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist the Head of Procurement in developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures.
- Support the Head of Procurement in managing the procurement team, provide leadership guidance, and ensure that procurement activities are conducted efficiently and effectively;
- Assist in the development and management of vendor relationships, negotiate contracts and terms to ensure the best possible value for the organization;
- Assist the Head of Procurement in developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with the organization's overall goals and objectives;
- Identify potential risks and opportunities in the procurement process, and implement appropriate strategies to mitigate risks and maximise opportunities;
- Ensure compliance with regulations and policies, including ethical and sustainable procurement practices;
- Support the monitoring of procurement performance, analyse data and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings;
- Assist with management of the procurement budget, ensuring that procurement activities are conducted within budgetary constraints;
- Collaborate with management, including finance, operations to ensure that procurement activities are aligned with the organization's overall goals and objectives;
- Provide guidance and training to staff across the organization on procurement policies, procedures, and best practices;
- Keep up-to-date with procurement trends and best practices, identify opportunities for the organization to improve its activities;
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities to senior management.
**We are looking for someone with**:
- Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in procurement, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong analytical and financial skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
- Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
