**Business Overview**
Working with the Director of Strategic Partnerships, the Head of Strategic Partnerships will focus on shaping and delivering the partnership strategy in line with ITV’s More Than TV vision. The role will drive partner activity across the ITV business and directly with partners ensuring that ITV is positioned to succeed in a rapidly transforming ecosystem.
ITV’s Strategic Partners range from traditional Pay TV distribution platforms to the US tech giants such as Google but also include a number of joint ventures, which ITV has invested in, to develop UK television platforms. The Head of Strategic Partnerships will work with the Director of Strategic Partnerships to lead ITVs relationships with the partners ensuring alignment across ITV PLC, full visibility of all partnership engagements for decision making and an overall holistic approach to achieving our More Than TV Strategy.
The role will work with a broad cross section of ITV teams including Commercial, Technology, Data, Marketing and Strategy to deliver ITV’s partnership strategy both internally and within partner businesses driving collaborative approaches and results-driven activity.
**This role entails**
- Build, develop and lead the key relationships with your allocated strategic partners both within the partner business and ITV
- Identify and prioritise partner opportunities which serve to meet ITV’s ‘More Than TV’ strategy
- Set and communicate a partner vision and set of objectives for each partner annually and organise and oversee all elements required for the successful delivery of those objectives bringing together multiple teams across technology, marketing, financial, legal, commercial and operations
- Create and run a formal process for feedback from partners assessing the relationship and highlighting opportunities or areas for improvement
- Benchmark and set KPIs to be monitored in line with ITVS overall KPIs
- Become an expert on each partners organisation, business model, roadmap and strategic priorities in order to develop annual, quarterly and tactical plans where required
- Help gain wider involvement of ITV leadership (ELT) in managing strategic partnerships and support the C-level relationships
- Manage a calendar of C-level partner meetings, provide briefing documents and action follow ups
- Input to monthly reporting to ensure full visibility within ITV leadership of Strategic Partner activity
- Proactively manage the planning and delivery of a number of specific strategic projects when multiple partners are involved
- Provide ad-hoc support to the Director of Strategic Partnerships including in developing and communicating the role of the division within the organisation
**To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills**:
**Minimum role criteria**:
- You will have a minimum of 10 years working in a UK based media/content owner organisation or a strategy consulting firm working with a portfolio of media owners.
- Demonstrable experience developing and growing large scale cross functional strategic partnerships including negotiation of contracts
**The Key role criteria is as follows**:
- **Industry Knowledge** - Understanding and experience of the UK media landscape, public service broadcasting, policy and regulatory agenda.
- **Platform Knowledge** - Understanding and experience of the technical fundamentals of TV platforms and consumer electronics, including current and emerging device and apps ecosystems, distribution channels and general internet technologies
- **Strategic Thinking**:
- Ability to understand the bigger picture both from an industry perspective as well as ITV and our partners and translate this into clear actions and deliverables
- **Communication**:
- Very strong written communication skills, and ability to tailor skills to suit a range of potential audiences as well as high proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel (including Google equivalents)
- **Partnerships** - Ability to developing strong and effective internal and external working relationships and credibility with staff at all levels, and from all functional backgrounds enabling you to build a clear understanding of the business strategies of partners and how these may complement or compete with our own business’s strategy
