**Health & Safety Advisor**

**Location**: Near Ackton, Pontefract

**Salary**: £35,000 - £45,000 DOE

**Job Type**: Full-time, Permanent

Our client, a growing facilities management business, is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team. This role is predominantly desk-based at their head office and will play a key role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations across their operations.

**Role Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the day-to-day management of health and safety processes, ensuring all procedures, policies, and standards are up to date.
- Conduct and assist with risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for various building management activities.
- Manage subcontractor documentation and maintain a PQQ process for new suppliers.
- Review and update the company training matrix.
- Assist in the creation of Construction Phase Plans and project packs.
- Provide guidance on health and safety plans for new and ongoing projects.
- Support third-party accreditation audits as part of an annual program.
- Monitor compliance, identify areas of risk, and advise management on corrective actions.
- Stay updated on legislative changes and industry best practices through training, seminars, and webinars.
- Promote a safety-first culture, engaging with employees across all business functions.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety requirements and other regulatory obligations.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- **Required**:

- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).
- NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate.
- Proven experience in health and safety coordination within property management, facilities management, or a related sector.
- **Desirable**:

- First Aid certification.

**Skills & Competencies**:

- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills for training delivery and report writing.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a keen eye for detail.
