**Are you a team player who can put children's welfare at the very heart of everything you do?**

**Are you passionate about delivery the best outcomes for our children, families and communities?**

**Our Purpose**

**Contribute to the realisation of the outcomes for North East Lincolnshire, in particular to enable all people in NEL to feel safe and be safe, to have good health and wellbeing and to realise their potential through skills and learning.

To be part of a team who are providing strong and decisive leadership and be responsible for the quality and impact of decisions, practice, performance and outcomes in relation to the functions for which the post holder has accountability. This will involve working autonomously in line with delegated responsibilities.

To work with partners in a relational way involving professional challenge where appropriate, to ensure timely and effective information sharing and holistic decision making for children and young people to inform best outcomes.

To provide professional expertise and practice wisdom to the team and external partners, including being able to share updates on themes, patterns and trends of work.

**The Role**

This role is within our Initial Contact Point, which sits within our Integrated Front Door (IFD). **This is a fixed term opportunity for one year - expected end date June 2026**

The ICP Worker role is a pivotal role at the start of a child’s journey with social care. The ICP Worker will be responsible for taking all calls which relate to children who are not open to Children’s Social Care, or Family Help, but who members of the public, or professionals may have worries about.

The ICP Worker role would be to answer calls, using a strength based approach, asking the appropriate questions, and ensuring we gather the very best quality, clear and concise information about children from the very start.

During the call you will be responsible for inputting this straight into Liquidlogic, determine if this is a request for Family Help, or if there are presenting safeguarding concerns.

Once a contact has been recorded, the ICP Worker will carried out further exploration, making multiagency checks, which will then lead to an analysis of what this means for the child and a plan of support created. Where safeguarding concerns are evident, the ICP Worker will be responsible for raising this appropriately with a Social Worker and Practice Supervisor, to ensure comprehensive review by a Social Worker.

**About You**
- Calm, able to work under pressure at times, but with the clear support and guidance of the team.
- Passionate about children’s social care and getting it right for children.
- Confident in having difficult conversations with professionals and members of the public.
- Willing to learn and with an eye for detail.
- Able to follow a strengths-based approach, to gather good quality, relevant information.
- Not afraid to ask further clarifying questions and be curious in conversation with callers, where they may be hesitant/resident to share further information.
- A team player, who recognises that you and your role are the very start of a child’s journey.

You will be joining a passionate team that places children at the heart of the decisions they make and champions supporting each other every single day.

Interview date: W/C 30th June 2025
