RK Accountancy are recruiting on behalf of a local housing organisation who are looking to bring in a Senior Property Officer in the Oldham area

**This is a full time role and offers hybrid and flexible working.**

**About the role**

To manage the companies property assets, ensuring they are maintained and developed in accordance with legislation and in the best interests of the company.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop, monitor and maintain a commercially effective Corporate Asset Management Plan and ensure the Service complies with the requirements of the companies constitution, contractual procedures and the reporting requirements of the Performance ManagementFramework.
- To lead on the development and delivery of strategies and policies to support companies asset portfolio in line with the companies Corporate Strategy and Plan.
- Negotiate land and property disposals, lease renewals and rent reviews including preparing comprehensive heads of terms and instructing Legal Services.
- Ensure the companies portfolio of assets are well maintained, affordable, sustainable and comply with all statutory legislation.
- Provide expert advice, prepare reports and represent the Council as required at relevant working groups, committees, public meetings, and court in connection with the work of the Property Services Team ensuring positive promotion of the company reputationand image.
- To establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with internal colleagues, partners, external stakeholders, Trade Unions and Elected Members. To consult and engage with appropriate stakeholders to influence developments in policyand to ensure the effective implementation of corporately agreed policies and procedures.
- Provide strong inspirational and effective leadership, promoting a corporate and team approach across the Council providing robust management and supervision to a small number of staff and/or externally appointed project staff

**About the Person**
- Experience of the delivery of asset land and property strategy and maximising revenue
- Experience of negotiating land and property disposals including preparing comprehensive Heads of Terms and instructing legal
- Experience of significant building projects including capital construction.
- Experience of working in a public sector environment is desirable
- Experience of interpreting legislation, policy and guidance to contribute to the formulation of local policies and procedures that comply with national requirements
