**Practice Accountant**

**Job Type**:Full Time, Permanent (Part time Hours can be considered depending on circumstances)

**Location**: Wetherby

**Salary**: £24,000 - £28,000 annum

Fantastic opportunity for a full-time experienced Accountant to join a firm of Chartered Accountants based in Wetherby, providing a friendly, efficient service to a wide variety of clients.

The job would suit someone with tenacity and the ability to concentrate under pressure.

**Main Duties**
- Preparation of annual accounts from varied client records, reporting to the directors
- Preparation and submission to HMRC of quarterly VAT returns on behalf of client
- Liaising with clients to collate the necessary information supporting those accounts and returns
- Working as part of a team and assisting others with their cases during busy periods and to meet deadlines

**Desirable/ Essential Skills and Experience**
- Experience working within the accounts preparation department of an accountancy firm / practice preparing SME accounts from a variety of sources
- Experience in the use of a variety of accounting software packages
- Personal and Corporation Tax knowledge, desirable but not essential
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and within deadlines
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Proactive
- A good team player

**Desirable Qualifications**
- AAT level 3 or higher, or
- 3 years practice experience
