Consultant in Oncoplastic Breast and Plastic Surgery

**About the role and our team**

Manx Care is looking for a dynamic and compassionate Consultant in Oncoplastic Breast and Plastic Surgery to join our friendly and enthusiastic team within Breast Services, based at Noble's Hospital, and Plastic Surgery Services located in the Isle of Man Skin Service at Ramsey & District Cottage Hospital.

This is a new post spanning both Breast and Plastic Surgery Services to facilitate a broadening of available treatments and interventions available in both areas, as well as to increase the resilience in both services.

Breast Services, based at Noble's Hospital, are based in a new and bespoke unit, funded entirely by donations from the Manx public, and features a co-located Breast Screening Centre as well as dedicated procedure rooms, ultrasound rooms and consulting rooms.

The Isle of Man Skin Service is based in Ramsey & District Cottage Hospital and is accommodated within the theatre suite at the hospital, with surrounding consulting rooms. Both Breast and Plastics Services are supported by a highly skilled team including Clinical Nurse Specialists, Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and admin staff to support high quality delivery of care.

We have strong tertiary links with Whiston Hospital, which is the specialist plastics and reconstructive surgery centre for Cheshire and Merseyside, as well as the Linda McCartney Centre for Breast Care at Royal Liverpool Hospital.

By joining us you’ll be stepping away from NHS pressures and demands, as the Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS.

You will also have access to the fantastic training and development facilities we have, including an onsite training centre and simulation suite. We recognise the need for all medical staff on the Island to maintain connections with medicine in the United Kingdom, and we provide generous study leave with pay and expenses to attend approved conferences and workshops.
