**Senior Systems Engineer - Microsoft Stack - VMWare - SQL - Cloud**

**Role: Senior Systems Engineer**

**Location: Hybrid - Newcastle or Edinburgh**

**Salary: £45,000 - £55,000** + Benefits

**Role**:

- Co-ordinates rapid response to major incidents and problems, ensuring that appropriate

action is taken to investigate and resolve them, with mínimal downtime to systems and

services
- Undertake post case analysis. Ensure processes are followed to engage all parties in the

delivery of resolution and Root Cause Analysis for all major incidents
- Document post incident recovery steps in order to establish Root Cause, aid in Process

improvements, identify deviations and to enable creation of a Knowledge Base
- Ensure all incidents are accurately logged in the ITSM toolset and all data required for

historical reporting is captured
- Take ownership in facilitating problem diagnosis, coordinating suppliers and internal teams

to identify and plan resolution of the underlying root cause

**Technical Requirements**
- Current Microsoft Associate or VMware qualification or similar level of knowledge
- Proven experience in a client facing environment
- Experience of working within an IT managed service provider environment
- Background in Incident & Problem Management roles, with solid understanding of service

management frameworks and processes
- Vast experience working in IT support

operating systems, local area networks, Cloud solutions etc)
- Report writing skills and the ability to be able to provide examples from previous IT projects

where appropriate
- An enthusiastic, driven, committed and flexible approach to work
- Solutions driven, confident and friendly approach in dealing with clients
- Natural initiative and pro-activeness to their method of working
- Be open to new ideas and have a positive outlook
- High degree of commercial acumen
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Keen interest in, and passionate about IT
- Technical writing skills, presentation skills, and the ability to be able to provide examples

where appropriate
- Ability to use judgement to effectively manage client issues
- Demonstrate value of and delivery of high quality client care with their approach to

communication
- In depth understanding of Microsoft, Azure and VMware
- Good understanding of ISO/BSI and ITIL frameworks
- Detailed knowledge of Windows, VMware, SQL
- In depth understanding of Hypervisors and Data Analytics
- Good understanding of working with Service Level Agreements
- A combination of the following technical skills or certification:
Skills: SQL Server, VMware (ESXi/vSphere), Zerto

Certifications: Azure Data Fundamentals, Azure Database Administrator, VMware

VCTA, VMware VCP
