**Role Summary**:
You will be based in the UK in one of our offices located in either Newcastle or Warwick.

**Essential Responsibilities**:
The power systems consultant will conduct a variety of assignments under the supervision of Senior or Principal Engineers. These include:

- Power system analysis and generator connection feasibility studies
- Preparation of detailed technical reports
- Global interaction with PSC colleagues to coordinate and execute studies
- Manage client expectations through regular communications and responsiveness

**Minimum Expertise**:

- Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering is required with a preference for a specialisation in power systems
- 1-3 years of system studies experience using network simulation software, ideally PSSE and DigSILENT PowerFactory
- Experience in several of the following areas is desired:

- Classical power system analysis & modelling including load flow, transient stability, short circuit analysis, and small signal assessments
- Power generation and transmission studies such as generator connections, voltage stability, protection grading, earthing studies, arc-flash energy studies, insulation coordination, feasibility studies, power station and control system design, and network planning
- Operations planning including short term assessments, switching studies and incident investigations
- Steady state and transient model development, testing, and field validation of the performance of generator control models
- Preparation of long-term, multi-scenario network development plans
- Good knowledge of grid connection policies in the UK

**Preferred Expertise**:

- Ability to work to deadlines and exceed client expectations
- 1-3 years of consultancy experience
- Excellent presentation skills to support and represent PSC in industry forums, working groups and conference as well as client presentations

**Specific Requirements**:

- Legally authorised to work in the UK
- Ability to travel
