**What you’ll be doing**

As the assistant Camera operator and part of the production team, you will be working with and supporting both broadcast engineering and camera operation. You will set up and film conferences based mainly at our London Venue - Savoy Place and where requiredother IET Venues or on occasion at third party venues.

You will be responsible for taking ownership of the equipment housed at our London office, which will include preparation, checking in/out the equipment and ensuring it is working as expected.

You’ll have an understanding of camera operation with an interest in current and emerging video production styles and technologies. Excellent communication and organisation skills along with the ability to work under pressure in demanding situations. You’llbe computer literate with a good eye for detail.

**A little more about the role**
- Work with the direction and guidance of the senior staff
- Ensure that digital media is ready for filming
- Help with the setup, conduct and shooting of IET.tv content - conference or short form
- Ensure that batteries have been put on charge and are ready for shoots
- To be responsible for
- Preparing, cleaning and testing Camera
- Logging out/in all equipment to events and other staff
- Camera set up at events and locations
- Setting up cameras
- Setting up lights for shooting
- Microphone and audio testing
- Prepping cables and other equipment
- Ensuring that kit is de-rigged, moved and stored correctly
- Flag any issues with the broadcast engineer/senior camera operator
- To work as part of a team with Freelance camera operators working to IET.tv standards
- As required to film at other locations/venues to film events for IET.tv
- To perform backup and ingestion of filmed material to the IET.tv editing system
- To undertake any other duties and projects at the request of the line manager.
- To be familiar with the Health and Safety and Fire policies for the organisation and to attend mandatory updates where required.

- Focusing/zoom control

- Audio equipment and levels
- To be able to frame and compose shots
- To have a basic knowledge of non-linear editing systems
- Basic competence with equipment inc. cameras, lighting, audio equipment
- Interest in current and emerging video production styles and technologies
- Organised, capable of multi-tasking with good problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a team and across multiple teams to successfully achieve objectives within strict deadlines
- Computer literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office,
- Smart appearance and a professional manner, providing a positive, customer-focused approach to all aspects of the role.
- Flexible - out of hours working and travel are required.
- To be able to work under pressure and in stressful situations
- Proactive and enthusiastic outlook.
- Accurate, with excellent written English and an eye for detail
