We are looking for people with experience in the highway or construction industry to join our Whitby depot as a Highways Skilled Operative or a Highway Operative with LGV.

The Whitby team works closely with our Scarborough depot on a variety of projects and are proud to offer their services to the largest county in the UK and are dedicated to contributing to our local community and the preservation of the area.

**As a Highways Skilled Operative, you will**:
Work closely with the Ganger to carry out a wide range of skilled tasks including kerbing, drainage installation, patching, ironwork renewal, street furniture installation, and more. You'll also tackle general maintenance duties like site upkeep, traffic management, and roadside verge maintenance and operate specialist highways plant equipment and tools to complete maintenance and repair work.

**To be successful in the role, you will have some of the following skills and experience**:
- Banksman
- Manual Handling
- Abrasive wheels
- Emergency First Aid
- Safe Dig
- Traffic Management TM1 and TM2
- Relevant Level 2 qualification in highway maintenance, or relevant work experience
- For Highways Operative with LGV you will hold an LGV Driving License and ideally an City and Guilds Winter 6159 certification for driving and operating gritters or, willingness to undertake gritter training once in post
