**About the role**

We have a fantastic opportunity for a **Sub-Agent** to join our talented **Highways Team on the M1/M62 CSB** scheme in **Leeds**. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team and help us deliver a successful project.

As a **Sub-Agent**, you will lead and control a section of the works, according to a specific discipline. You will also lead a team of Section and Site Engineers within the same discipline.

**What you'll be doing**
- Motivate the team, manage performance, monitor the competency of team members and undertake training/ coaching as appropriate.
- Implement a programme of works and closely monitor and manage production ensuring targets are met in a safe manner.
- Review Method Statements and Risk Assessments and make improvements as appropriate.
- Carry out trend analysis and identify improvement areas from audits and near misses.
- Carry out field audits and confirm the sufficiency of control documentation as well safe production onsite.
- Produce and implement relevant Permits to work.
- Possess a strong understanding of working around utilities and permit to dig processes.
- Manage sub-contractors.
- Understand cost and value.

**Who we're looking for**
- **Civils/Highways projects experience**:

- SMSTS/CSCS accredited
- Strong knowledge and management of construction process in one or more of the following areas: Earthworks/Drainage, Pavement, Structures, Roadworks.
- A full understanding of technical requirements and techniques of setting out and coaching of team members.
- Good working knowledge of Contracts such as the NEC.
- Strong communication skills with good interpersonal and influencing skills.
- A good working knowledge of current H&S Legislation.
- Ability to produce and manage a detailed programme of works.
- **Valid UK driving licence & Right to Work in the UK (Essential)**
