Graduate Data Executive

We have an exciting opportunity in our Data Processing & IT team for either an experienced survey scripter / data analyst or a graduate from a maths, science or computing background who is eager to learn new skills. If you like variety, this could be the role for you as no two days will be the same You’ll be working in a small, but fast-paced market research agency which prides itself on its family-feel, where staff work collaboratively across teams to produce high quality (often bespoke) solutions to challenging client requests. **The Company** Swift Research is a market research agency based in Wetherby, West Yorkshire. Despite being a relatively small agency, we offer a wide range of research serving both national and international clients from a variety of sectors. With an online panel, an in-house call centre and our own on-site sensory research centre, we conduct projects via web, phone and face-to-face methodologies, sometimes creating bespoke solutions to combine all of these into one. Having spent the last 38 years as a family-owned business, we were keen to maintain the family-feel culture we have and by selling the business to the employees, it secures the future of the business and means we can continue as an independent research agency for generations to come. **The Role** The role will include: - Using Askia data collection software to script high-quality, engaging online surveys including logic-based routing and modifying design using HTML and CSS. - Managing the data collection for online and phone projects - being responsible for ensuring the quality of the data collected, the accuracy of quotas being met and keeping the project team updated. - Producing raw data and/or analytical data tabulations to meet client’s requirements. - Creating and manipulating databases in Excel, Access and SQL Server. - Developing bespoke technical solutions to meet clients’ requirements. - Providing technical support to users within the company and at research studies taking place around the UK. - As part of a small team, there will be ample opportunity to get involved in other elements of IT; from IT support to development and web design. **The Person** Due to the varied nature of our work, the role would be ideal for somebody looking for an opportunity to be involved in various areas of data processing and technology. The position would be well suited to either a recent maths / science / computing graduate looking for a varied role in a hands-on environment, or somebody with a few years’ experience working as a data analyst or survey scripter who is looking for a new challenge. We are looking for somebody who challenges the way things are done and proactively seeks out new and efficient ways of working so you will need to be the sort of person who strives for improvement, rather than settling for "that's the way we've always done it". In return, you will be given the opportunity and training to get involved in all elements of IT and DP and help drive the company forward through the use of technology. **Requirements**: **Essential**: - Excellent problem-solving skills, a logical thinker who has the ability to “think outside the box” and come up with bespoke solutions to challenging problems. - A high attention to detail. - Capable of multitasking and thrives on working under pressure. - Excellent knowledge / understanding of Microsoft Excel. - Good written and spoken English. - GCSE (or equivalent): at least a grade C in English and a grade B in Maths. - Full UK driving licence - transporting IT equipment and providing external support around the country will be required on occasions. - Eligibility to work in the UK **Advantageous but not essential**: - Prior experience of data analysis / tabulation - Experience with market research data collection software (e.g. Askia, Nebu, etc.) - Experienced at working with Microsoft SQL (tables, views, queries, etc.) - Any programming or web design experience - Statistical background **The Package** - Salary £22,000 - £27,000 DOE - Flexible / agile working (after initial probation period) - Pension scheme - 33 days annual leave + a 'birthday holiday' - Company annual profit share - Health cash plan where you can claim back the cost of treatments e.g. dental, optical etc. - Flexible benefits portal with instant access to 100’s of perks, benefits & discounts - Free on-site parking Please note: This role is based at our office in Wetherby.
