Wetherby, United Kingdom Swift Research Ltd. Full time

We have an exciting opportunity in our Data Processing team for a maths / science graduate who is eager to learn new skills and embark on a career in market research, working for an employee-owned business where they can make a real difference. **The Role** If you like variety, this could be the role for you as no two days will be the same You'll be working in a small, but fast-paced market research agency which prides itself on its family-feel, where staff work collaboratively across teams to produce high quality (often bespoke) solutions to challenging client requests. The role will include: - Using Askia data collection software to script high-quality, engaging surveys including logic-based routing and modifying design using HTML and CSS. - Working as part of a project team alongside both research & fieldwork executives to ensure the smooth running of market research studies. - Managing the data collection for online and phone projects - being responsible for ensuring the quality of the data collected, the accuracy of quotas being met and keeping the project team updated. - Producing raw data and/or analytical data tabulations to meet client's requirements. - Creating and manipulating databases in Excel, Access and SQL Server. - Developing bespoke technical solutions to meet clients' requirements. - Providing technical support to users within the company and at research studies taking place around the UK. As part of a small team, there will be ample opportunity to get involved in other elements of IT; from IT support to development and web design. **The Company** It's an exciting time for Swift as we are now an employee-owned company. This means going forwards the employees will be responsible for shaping the company's future and will benefit from its profits. Having spent 38 years as a family-owned business, we were keen to maintain the family-feel culture we have and by selling the business to the employees, it secures the future of the business and means we can continue as an independent research agency for generations to come. **The Person** Due to the varied nature of our work, the role would be ideal for somebody looking for an opportunity to be involved in various areas of data processing and technology as well as being genuinely interested in market research. The position would be well suited to somebody with a mathematical / scientific background - either a recent graduate looking for a varied role in a hands-on environment, or somebody with a few years' experience working in the market research sector as survey scripter / data exec who is looking for a new challenge. We are looking for somebody who questions the way things are done and proactively seeks out new and efficient ways of working so you will need to be the sort of person who strives for improvement, rather than settling for "that's the way we've always done it". In return, you will be given the opportunity and training to get involved in all elements of DP and be encouraged to help drive the company forward through the use of technology. **The Requirements** Essential: - Excellent communication skills - able to comfortably and proactively speak to colleagues in different departments who are in non-technical roles. - Good problem-solving skills - a logical thinker who has the ability to "think outside the box" and come up with bespoke solutions to challenging problems. - Excellent project management & time management skills - capable of working on multiple projects at once, prioritising own work and dealing with unexpected problems. - A high attention to detail. - Capable of multitasking and thrives on working under pressure. - Excellent knowledge / understanding of Microsoft Excel. - Good written and spoken English. - GCSE (or equivalent): at least a grade C in English and a grade B in Maths. - Full UK driving licence - transporting IT equipment and providing external support around the country will be required on occasions. Advantageous but not essential: - Experience with market research data collection software (e.g. Askia, Nebu, etc.) - Web design experience (HTML, CSS etc.) - Experienced at working with SQL (tables, views, queries, etc.) - Prior experience of data analysis / tabulation - Statistical background **Benefits** - Starting salary of £24,000 - £26,000 DOE - 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays) + up to 5 additional loyalty days - Company profit share scheme - Employee-owned; automatically become a company partner after 12 months’ continuous service - Choice of 4 or 5-day week after successful completion of probation - Hybrid working (after initial probation period) - Pension scheme - Casual dress code - Birthday holiday - Christmas Closure - an additional 3 days holiday - Health cash plan (claim back the cost of treatments eg: dental, optical etc.) - Flexible benefits portal with instant access to 100's of perks, benefits & discounts - Great location just off the A1(M) offering an easy comm
