Retail Stock Accountant

Here at N Bronw we have an exciting role to join our finance team as a Retail Stock Accountant This role offers hybrid working, enabling you to work from home or office. We know these are different times and have embraced them to ensure our colleaguesare supported. Our Manchester City Centre office base, has socially distanced workstations and sanitizing stations around the business.
**What you’ll do as aRetail Stock Accountant at N Brown**:

- Support business reporting by providing timely and accurate stock reporting and understand the inventory profile.
- Complete reconciliations of data held on the group’s financial ledgers and the management systems used by the distribution centres and work with corresponding teams to facilitate variance resolution.
- Understand the “as is” for the stock reconciliations and drive improvements in processes
- Resolve and communicate reasons for key variances each month to the wider Finance team, senior management, Logistics, and other stakeholders.
- Manage inventory reporting from key third party partners to ensure accurately reflected in group accounts and any variances are appropriately resolved.
- Own the stock valuation (Actual Landed Cost) and provision calculations and manage this on an ongoing basis including preparing evidence for judgement calls made by management.
- Act as a business partner to the Finance team and the wider business to promote impact and understanding of reporting across the group. Work between the Logistics operation and finance to ensure that we are accurately receiving, paying for and recordingthe items we have ordered.
- Key contact for internal and external auditors for accounting of inventory of the group.
- Oversee PI count reporting and ensure key PI counts adhere to acceptable controls and variance levels.
- Adhere to audit controls and operating procedures to ensure integrity and completeness ofrecords, contributing to design of effective controls.
- Maintain up to date and accurate [policy & process documents engaging with other teams and stakeholders for process signoff.
- Play a key role in projects relating to inventory management.
- Own balance sheet reconciliations relating to the Group’s inventory.
- Review and sign off journals and write offs.

**Who you are**:

- You will be ACA or ACCA qualified accountant (with proven PQE) and used to working with a large number of SKUs within an ERP environment.
- Look to challenge current ways of working and promote best practices within the Finance team.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate and partner internally with other teams, and support key members of the finance leadership team.
- Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
- Excellent excel skills.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion products preferable but not essential.
- Retail and / or commercial experience preferable, but not essential.
