**GARDENER - For hotel kitchen garden**

Magnificently set in the secluded splendour of 400 acres of deer park and woodland, bordered by the calming waters of Bassenthwaite Lake and framed by the dramatic Skiddaw Mountain and Lake District Fells, Armathwaite Hall Hotel and Spa is as romantic as the surrounding countryside. Originally a stately home, now a wonderful luxury Spa Hotel which is looking for a Gardener to _re-establish_ the kitchen garden.

We are looking for a Gardener to provide produce for our kitchens and flowers for the hotel. Hours of work are flexible, generally 8am-4pm (37.5 hours per week) 5 days a week.

**As our Kitchen Gardener you will**:

- Plant and maintain the garden with vegetables and flowers for the hotel.
- Propagate plants, pruning etc.
- General garden maintenance, including weeding, hoeing, clearing, mulching etc..

**As our Kitchen Gardener you will have the following knowledge**:

- Plant/Vegetable, shrub and general gardening knowledge is essential, preferably with RHS or similar qualifications.
- Knowledge and experience of working as a professional gardener.
- Knowledge and experience in vegetable/kitchen garden is ideal (i.e. growing and caring for fruit, vegetable, salad and herb crops).
- Attention to detail, can do attitude, excellent time keeping skills and the ability to work alone effectively using own initiative and with others as required.

This will be a physical role and the Cumbria weather can be varied, so physical stamina is a must
