As Director of Sales you will lead the sales requirement for the hotel to deliver both growth on the existing account portfolio alongside delivering sales actions to achieve the monthly sales budget and new business.
Macdonald Holyrood Hotel is a 157 bedroom hotel boasting spa & leisure club, three function spaces, restaurant and bar. Situated in the historic old town of Edinburgh and within walking distance of Holyrood Palace, The Royal Mile and Holyrood Park, we offer the perfect location for our guests to explore all Edinburgh has to offer. This is an exciting time to join the hotel as we embark on a rebranding and refurbishment program in the next few months following our recent acquisition from Macdonald Hotels.
The Role
Having begun our search for a Director of Sales for this new exciting chapter for the hotel, we are looking for someone who has proven success in a similar role and environment.
As Director of Sales you will create in collaboration with the General Manager, an annual marketing and sales plan linked to forecasted budgets and dynamic forecasts and take full ownership of hotel sales strategies.
Identify existing and new target market segments whilst also proactively representing the hotel at industry events and local networking opportunities to raise the hotel profile and build a local new business referral network.
Work closely with the Revenue Manager to ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial needs of the hotel.
Utilising Market Intelligence reports to ensure comprehensive competitor knowledge within local territory maintained, targeting sales actions accordingly to grow market share for the Hotel.
Consistently achieve monthly sales KPI.
The Opportunity
This is a newly created role for the hotel as it goes through an extensive rebranding and refurbishment program. The Director of Sales will be key in this process and as such form part of the hotels Executive Committee.
