Medical Receptionist/administrator

**Overview**
**Duties**:
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar efficiently.
- Handle incoming calls, responding to inquiries and directing calls to appropriate staff members.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality is upheld at all times.
- Process patient registrations and verify insurance information.
- Assist with billing inquiries and coordinate with insurance companies as needed.
- Support clinical staff by preparing necessary documentation for patient visits.
- Maintain a clean and organised reception area.
**Essential Criteria / Skills**:
- 5 GCSEs (grade A-C) including English and Maths
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in using office equipment such as computers, printers, and telephones.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating empathy and professionalism at all times.
**Desirable Criteria / Skills**:
- Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of EMIS Web Clinical System
**Job Type**: Full and/or part time permanent
**Pay**: Starting £12.00 per hour and reviewed annually
**Work Schedule**: Monday - Friday
