**Job Description**:
An SEMH Classroom Assistant is required to work at an Alternative Provision in East Birmingham.

** SEMH Classroom Assistant
** Long-term role, working full-time
** Award-winning AP located in East Birmingham/North Solihull
** SEMH Classroom Assistant role, to start immediately
** £350 - £425 per week
The SEMH Classroom Assistant Role:
As an SEMH Classroom Assistant, you will be providing in-class support for classes in KS3 and KS4, as well as working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and small groups. You will be providing learning support, working with class teachers to differentiate learning materials appropriately for the individual needs and levels of ability of the pupils you are working with. As an SEMH Classroom Assistant, you will need to effectively manage challenging behaviour and build a positive rapport with the young people you support.
The SEMH Classroom Assistant:
To be eligible for this SEMH Classroom Assistant role, you must have worked as an SEMH Classroom Assistant recently, or in a similar role. You must hold a minimum of a Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification, or one similar that is relevant to the role of SEMH Classroom Assistant. It is important that you have a strong, resilient personality and can manage behaviour effectively. The school are looking for a committed individual whop has a genuine care for the development of the pupils and will prioritise their wellbeing and education.

This Alternative Provision located in East Birmingham/North Solihull caters for pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4 with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour and SEN that has resulted in them leaving mainstream education.
