**Temp Editorial Assistant**

Hybrid role - Manchester

£13.71 per hour

Key Responsibilities, Accountabilities or Duties:

- Proofread and copyedit blogs, briefing notes and articles written by academics
- Draft press releases relating to events and publications
- Ensure that content meets University of Manchester brand guidelines and our tone of voice
- Edit images and graphics for use on blogs, the website and social media
- Join and participate in team meetings

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

- Experience of proofreading and copyediting
- Attention to detail and accuracy in conveying information
- Excellent communication skills and experience of writing for different audiences
- Ability to write engaging and accurate copy for print and digital
- Ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines
- Ability to work on own initiative, but also co-operatively as part of a team
- Good IT skills and the ability to quickly get to grips with new software and systems

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

- Experience of working in a busy office environment
- Experience in drafting press releases with evidence of coverage
- Experience of basic image editing
- Experience of arranging content for paid-for social media production
- An interest in news, politics and current affairs
