Applications are invited for the Departmental Safety Adviser role which will manage and provide expert advice and guidance on matters of health and safety to one or more Departments (Oncology, Surgery and Paediatrics) located on or in the proximity of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

The post holder will manage safety within the departments on a day-to-day basis, ensuring the health and safety legislation and university health and safety policies are implemented as well as promoting a positive health and safety culture at all levels.

The post holder will collaborate with senior academic staff, research and technical staff and students to find practical solutions to complex health and safety issues, being responsive to the needs of the research, and enabling a proportionate response to the management of risk accordance to both the University's procedures and legal requirements.

The role will be full-time: 36.5 hours per working week Monday-Friday and be based 0.6 FTE in the Department of Oncology, 0.2 in the FTE Department of Surgery and 0.2 FTE in the Department of Paediatrics. Alternatively a part time job share opportunity is also available (3 days a week and 2 days a week).

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
