Research Associate

CK Group are recruiting for a Research Associate on behalf of a growing biotechnology company to be based at their site in Stevenage on a permanent basis.
**About the client**:
Our client specialises in the discovery and development of single domain antibody therapeutics in a number of therapeutic areas. Their approach allows for the rapid delivery of high-affinity products to multiple target classes that have proven difficult orimpossible by standard antibody approaches or alternative scaffolds
**About the role**:
The main purpose of the position will be to support with Antibody Discovery and Development projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing functional assays using ELISA, flow cytometry, and cell-based assay
- Supporting with antibody discovery and characterisation
- Expression of proteins in bacterial and mammalian systems
- Purification of proteins to the highest standard, including preparing endotoxin-free materials for in vivo studies
**About you**:
To be considered for the position you should have the following skills and expertise:
- Qualified to a minimum of BSc, and preferably MSc degree in a relevant biological discipline
- Previous experience working in a relevant research focused environment
- Ability to perform in vitro biochemical, and cell-based assays
- Experience with aseptic techniques for culture and maintenance of cell lines
**The following skills would be highly beneficial for this position, but are not essential as training is provided**:
- Experience and understanding of therapeutic antibody discovery using phage display
- Previous experience with characterisation of therapeutic antibodies using various techniques including ELISA, flow cytometry, western blotting, SPR
- Previous experience with protein expression and purification
- Previous experience with immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, tissue sectioning
