Our customer, a leading global law firm, is looking to hire an Analyst with experience gained in a major law firm and/or in house financial services institution. Ideally you will have experience in the Transport sector, more specifically within Shipping and Aviation. This is a fast-moving environment, working on a variety of complex legal matters.
**Specific duties to be undertaken in the role**:
- Help with the diversification of shipping and the growth of aviation in the Transport Practice Group
- Include some client-facing elements, even if just in pitches and meetings. Not mean going out and winning work, but more build up some knowledge the team should showcase and share that with clients and industry stakeholders
**Key Requirements (Must Haves)**:
- Research Skills - identifying and understanding trends in Transport Sector
- Writing/Presenting Skills - reporting back to the business and partner in a variety of ways - as well as preparing the information for clients too

Research - The main role of an industry analyst is to identify and understand trends in the chosen sector. The role will:
- Monitor industry related activity, articles, financial indicators and regulation, reporting back to the group partners with concise action-oriented summaries that identify potential opportunities for growth.
- Analyse at what clients are investing in and report back assessing their reasons.
- Analyse clients against measurable criteria, such as growth in market share, or intangible factors, such as reputation for innovation.
- Conduct research on competitors’ products and services to identify opportunities for improvement in product offerings or pricing.
- Participate in strategic planning meetings to help develop long-term strategies that will benefit the firm
- Provide advice on how to productise services in order to reach specific audiences or demographics.
- Identifying trends in technology, regulations, and other factors that could impact the industry.
Reporting - Industry analysts report their findings in a number of ways, including:
- Real-time partner updates
- Group presentations
- Ghost-writing publicly available blogs and articles for our partners
- Client presentations
- Presenting findings at industry conferences or via online seminars.
Relationships
- Building relationships of trust with Partners, Clients and with key industry players.
