**Department Overview**:
Within out Fire Safety team, we have an experienced group of people knowledgeable in the delivery of a wide range of fire safety services. The team aims to provide our clients with Fire Safety Solutions from inception to completion and throughout the life cycle of built assets including fire risk assessments, retrospective fire strategies, clerk of works, design review, fire integrity surveys, remedial works specification and project and programme management. We pride ourselves on the quality of the service we provide to our clients and aim to enjoy long-term working relationships as trusted advisors.

Due to a prolonged period of increased demand, we have upskilled our internal teams to support this service and meet the needs of our existing clients while allowing us to build relationships with new clients. We are now at the stage where we need to recruit additional fulltime team member to support the service. We are a sector focused business actively operating and investing in Commercial, Data Centre, Residential, Education, Healthcare and Retail clients and projects.

Consultants work in close contact with the clients, advising them on industry best practices, commercial remediation, financial and legal matters that arise during the service delivery of the project.

**Overview of Role**:
We are currently recruiting for a** Fire Consultant, or Senior Fire Consultant,** with a background in Fire Risk Management to join our client focused team with line and fee management in our Yorkshire Region and reporting into either our **Leeds, or Sheffield** office.

This is an exciting opportunity for a high-calibre individual to join and strengthen our team. The role will be an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to take responsibility for providing fire consultancy services from within our existing team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To carry out assigned duties in accordance with set procedures
- Comply with established strategies
- Comply with Environmental, Health, safety, Security and Quality Standards.
- To support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances
- ** Professional Skills**:

- To undertake fire risk assessments across a variety of property types ranging from residential, healthcare, custodial, education and commercial (training available)
- To provide a fire safety advisor role to assist our clients with their property portfolios
- To undertake fire integrity / compartmentation surveys to identify breaches, condition and non-compliance, with proposed remedial repairs / actions
- To provide advice to clients on current UK legislation and upcoming changes through the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, etc.
- To provide quality & technical monitoring on construction projects
- Must have a working knowledge and good understanding of Approved Document B, Health Technical Memorandum 05-02, Building Bulletins, relevant British Standards
- To review contractors’ proposals on construction projects and provide comment on compliance with industry standards and the suitability for the intended purpose

**Person Specification**:

- Strong technical delivery experience
- Ability to successfully manage several commissions independently in a proactive and diligent manner
- Client facing, ensuring high standards of technical delivery
- Able to build long-term relationships
- A track record of working with teams and prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
- A team player, outgoing, flexible, enthusiastic, and ambitious
- Ability for occasional overnight stays away from home (majority of work will be within the Yorkshire Region, but occasional travel maybe required)

Essential Qualifications**
- Level 4 Fire Safety Qualification minimum
- Experience of undertaking Fire Risk Assessments across a range of building types
- Membership on a recognised Fire Risk Assessment Register (or relevant prerequisites to allow admission)
- Knowledge of UK fire safety legislation

Desirable Qualifications**
- Full Member of The Institute of Fire Safety Managers
- Associate / Graduate / Member of The Institution of Fire Engineers
- CFPA E-Diploma in Fire Prevention
