**SECTION**:Communities (West Yorkshire)
**LOCATION**:To work across all three countryside park sites under Groundwork’s management (Fryston Trails, Frickley and Rabbit Ings Country Parks)

**REPORTING TO**:Communities Manager (West Yorkshire)

**RESPONSIBLE FOR**:Countryside Rangers, outside contractors, consultants and volunteers

**HOURS/HOLIDAYS**:

- 37 hours per week
- 25 days annual leave per annum plus bank holidays
- Flexi/TOIL system in operation

**SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF SERVICE**:

- The post will involve evening and weekend work, as required, in relation to events and activities etc.
- DBS check required

**PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POST**
- To enable Groundwork to fulfil its mission to build sustainable communities in areas of need through joint action, working with the community and partners to improve quality of life and bring about positive change in people’s lifestyles and the environment
- To promote the understanding and enjoyment of the natural environment at Rabbit Ings, Frickley Country Park and Fryston Countryside Trails by providing a programme of environmental education activities, helping to deliver the Land Trust KPIs, and assisting in the ongoing improvement and management of the sites
- To oversee the management and delivery of a range of activities that meet the maintenance requirements for both sites
- To encourage, through effective community engagement, the safe public use of the three sites
- To work in partnership with all local organisations who have an interest in the sites, including sports clubs and naturalists
- To liaise with the appropriate enforcement agencies in respect of any issues of mis-use of the sites
- To monitor and maintain all health and safety requirements for the sites
