**Job description**:
DIO manages £36bn of infrastructure assets and spends £3.5bn each year maintaining and developing those assets on behalf of the whole of the MOD in pursuit of its strategic objectives

DIO’s finance function aims to provide best in class financial management, reporting and advice to a range of stakeholders across the MOD, ensuring value for money for the taxpayer.

As a Finance Officer in DIO you will assist in ensuring that the Utilities Business Area adheres and conforms to all agreed processes and operating procedures. You will analyse financial and other management information. You will work with the Utilities Business Area to produce accruals and support in the delivery of reliable and robust monthly accounting activities, reporting and In Year forecasting.

This job is particularly interesting during a period of volatile and increasing utility prices.

**Responsibilities**:

- ** In Year Management Forecasting**

Engage with the Utilities Business Area team to produce accurate and robust accruals, including revenue and water, on a monthly basis in accordance with timetables and instructions.
- ** Provide high quality timely responses to both internal and external stakeholders**

Including Parliamentary Questions, Freedom of Information Requests, National Audit Office samples.
- ** Payment mapping and Approvals**

Using lookups map key contract invoices to MOD sites and financially approve payments in Contracting, Purchasing and Finance.
- ** Governance**

Maintain the Spend Analysis report, investigating unusual transactions, identifying potential solutions and ensuring that corrective action is taken if required. Share reports with the Utilities Business Area and provide feed back to support the Assurance meetings.
