**The Challenge**

This is an outstanding opportunity to support the Future Accommodation Model and make a difference to the lives of Service Personnel Whilst gaining knowledge of wider DIO Accommodation activities. The Future Accommodation Model (FAM) is looking at options to make greater use of the private rental sector to widen entitlement giving Service Personnel more choice about how, where and with whom they live, to reduce the overheads inherent in the current accommodation model, whilst providing support for those who wish to own their own homes so providing more stability for their families whilst still supporting the needs of the Services. This is a significant change in policy, in which you will play a key role.

**Responsibilities**:
You will be part of the Occupancy Management Team, within the wider Accommodation Delivery team which is responsible for providing Service Family Accommodation (SFA) and managing Single Living Accommodation (SLA) worldwide. This includes the management of around 75,000 SFA properties and 150,000 bed spaces; major SFA upgrades and other improvements in the UK; providing a comprehensive SFA repair and maintenance service in the UK; managing SFA allocation worldwide; and overseeing the move in and move out of personnel from SFA properties worldwide. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to and conformity with agreed DIO processes and operating procedures and undertake the delivery of the DIO Accommodation support to FAM in accordance with the Tri-Service Accommodation Regulations (TSARs).

**Main Responsibilities**
- Analysing accommodation preference forms, where Service Personnel have indicated SFA as their preferred accommodation route.
- Assessing entitlement for SFA, in accordance with extant policy.
- Instruct our Industry Partner around eligibility for SFA, in line with FAM policy.
- Confirm SFA availability to FAM colleagues for Service Personnel placement into the SFA route, where SFA availability is not limited.
- Control and route applicants for SFA when SFA availability is limited at FAM pilot sites.
- Interact with Service Personnel, by exception, to understand their requirements where SFA is limited.
- Maintain good relationship with FAM colleagues at pilot sites, answering queries in relation to SFA availability and providing bespoke accommodation guidance.
- Undertake 10% validation check against the Joint Service Personnel Administration system.
- Monitor void levels at FAM pilot sites, monitoring trends and analysing data in support of FAM pilot and wider DIO Accommodation objectives.
- Share SFA availability information with the FAM colleagues on a regular basis.

The post will not have any staff management responsibility.
