London, United Kingdom Penguin Books Limited Full time

Are you great with people, highly-organised and full of initiative?

Want to join an award-winning PR team who work with leading children’s brands and the world’s best authors? We have an exciting opportunity to begin or grow your career within our hugely talented and pioneering Publicity team at Penguin Random House Children’s.

We are the UK’s no.1 children’s publisher, home to Puffin and Ladybird, and some of the most recognised entertainment brands and authors, including: Peppa Pig, Peter Rabbit, The Snowman, Tom Fletcher, Roald Dahl, Malorie Blackman, Jeff Kinney, Jacqueline Wilson and Karen McManus to name but a few. We also launch talented new rising stars, including: Nathan Bryan, Dapo Adeola, Sam Copeland, Humza Arshad and Manjeet Mann.

Collaborating with the team, your ingenuity, organisation and attention to detail will be called upon daily: from scheduling meetings and liaising with other departments & media to assisting publicists with their campaigns and events. You will be a team player, able to keep things running smoothly in a fast-paced environment when your colleagues are juggling various priorities. You'll be proactive in your work and will always be looking for new ways to work more efficiently and effectively.

Our world is changing. Fast. This means we want to work with a wide range of talent as we find new ways to tell and share our stories. That is where you come in. We want to hear from every voice and see from all perspectives.

You don’t need to have set foot in a publishing house before to grab our attention. Knowing your way around Microsoft Office would be useful. You’ll also bring with you a curiosity to learn and to think, see and do things differently.

What you’ll gain in return is invaluable PR experience, a wide understanding of the publishing process and the opportunity to work closely with a variety of departments. You will learn first-hand how we approach and execute PR campaigns, drive demand, run events and create magic. We pride ourselves on innovation and put our readers at the heart of everything we do.

As part of your cover letter, please tell us about a recent campaign that caught your attention - it doesn’t have to be book related - and why you thought it was successful (in no more than 250 words).

We are currently working remotely but this role is currently based in our Embassy Gardens offices in Nine Elms, Vauxhall and we expect the role to transition back into the office when we can.

**Salary**: You‘ll start on £24,000. Expect a £1,000 increase on your first anniversary in this role and a further £1,000 on your second to reflect your growing contribution.

**What you can expect from us**:
Our employees are the heart of our business. We have a range of benefits to reflect our commitment to our employees, some of which are:

- 25 days paid holiday entitlement in year one (plus bank holidays), increasing a day each year up to 30 days
- Medical cover
- Life assurance
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Discounted gym membership
- Generous pension scheme
- Summer working hours (role dependent)
- Volunteering policy and charity matching
- Employee Assistance programme
- Mentoring programme
- Extended gender neutral parental leave
- 60% Discount on Company books
- Each site has trained mental health first aiders
- We plant a tree for every new employee to our business

**Our creativity is inspired by different perspectives, so we want our culture to be one of belonging, where everyone feels welcome and where differences are celebrated.**

Please note, we are not able to accept agency CVs for this role. Any CVs sent speculatively will not be eligible for a fee.
