In this role, you will predominantly assist in the daily cooking and catering service at Claires Court Junior School. You will ensure hygiene and cleanliness is maintained in all areas to the standard and quality required, meeting the relevant H&S criteriain accordance with regulations.

**Main Duties**:

- Assist with catering for Junior Pupils and staff, including events outside of normal hours.
- Order, receive, store, process, cook, present and serve meals and supplies to high standards.
- Complete daily and weekly checks and required paperwork efficiently and safely.
- Deputize for the Cook Supervisor when necessary.
- Adhere to allergen legislation and update Cook Supervisor when needed.
- Handle food and supplies safely using HACCP practices.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment breakdowns immediately.
- Undertake relevant training and other duties as required by Catering Manager.
- Experience working in a similar role.
- Skilled in catering practices.
- Must hold an up-to-date Food Hygiene certificate and/or an appropriate qualification in catering eg NVQ L2 and City & Guilds.

**Hours and Pay**:
Hours of work will be 22.5 per week, working 9:30am to 2:00pm Monday to Friday during term time.

Whilst the majority of work will be during these hours, applicants are advised that flexibility is essential as the post holder will be required to cover some catering requirements, for example afternoon events and occasional evening functions.

In addition this post holder is required to work 2 weeks during school holiday periods preparing lunches for our Holiday Club children.

The starting rate for this post is **£10.83** per hour.
