Your new role

As a PMO Assistant, you will be a core part of the programme management office, working as part of a team to enable the Road Safety Division to plan and meet its commitments, and to maintain high quality and timely performance and progress reporting.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust management and reporting and will provide flexible business support to ensure that projects and work streams held by the Road Safety Division are delivered to time, quality, and cost, and arecompliant with National Highway’s governance frameworks.

Key Accountabilities

Identify and critically analyse Road Safety Division business and management information to enhance robust management and rigorous control of the directorate’s delivery against in year and future years’ business targets and objectives.
Provision of effective administrative support to members of the Road Safety Division. This will cover providing finance management, risk management, meeting and reporting support to all Division members, including senior members of the team.
Manage the preparation, critical analysis, and quality assurance of regular and ad-hoc reporting requirements of the Road Safety Division to internal and external stakeholders, to enable effective decision making.
Manage and embed the Road Safety Division risk management process through providing guidance, managing risk registers, ensuring compliance, and analysing and interrogating collated information, ensuring mitigations and appropriate escalation processes are implemented.
Perform a variety of housekeeping and ad-hoc tasks, contributing to team processes, audit governance and continuous improvement.
Leading on drafting high quality Ministerial and customer correspondence by managing responses and contributions from teams across the business, on an adhoc basis.
To be successful

Considerable experience working in a programme management office or business support role within a fast paced, results driven organisation.
Strong planning, coordination, finance management and risk management skills.
Experience of analysing reporting and understanding complex financial information.
Ability to assimilate and convey complex and challenging information effectively to a wide range of audiences.
Ability to work under pressure to ensure delivery of high-quality results to tight timescales.
Personal attributes required: proactivity, resilience, integrity and customer service skills.
