We are looking for a talented Procurement Assistant who will support the wider Procurement team in delivery of the business strategy.
You will report into the Ingredients Category Manager and your key responsibilities will include category management of areas of our ingredients spend, involvement in our business transformation programme, and supporting new product development from concept brief through to launch.
** Please note this role is a 12 month FTC **
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Support in the build and execution of strategic category strategies within the portfolio of spend, including reporting against budget forecast and delivering on strategic actions
- Working with key stakeholders to support data collation, analysis and reporting on SRM (Supplier Relationship Management)
- Embrace procurement systems, including the e-procurement tool for the build and execution of tenders
- Sourcing of new suppliers as required
- Maintaining procurement reports and databases
- Market monitoring and reporting. Raising risk to the Procurement Team as required.
- Ensuring price files are kept up to date and accurate with changes clearly communicated.
- Develop the reporting and analysis of procurement performance, demonstrating the value-added vs the external market
- Supporting in business transformation project, including data cleansing and testing
- Acting as key Procurement representative on new product development and launch into market
- Primary contact for the escalation of supply chain issues
- Reviewing and correcting invoice queries
- Maintaining and developing reports for contract management and balance analysis
- Supporting Nichols **Happier Future** strategy through responsible sourcing & climate impact among others
**What you will need**:
- Previous experience in purchasing/procurement/buying department
- Experience in food manufacture is desirable
- Degree qualified or working towards a professional qualification e.g. CIPS
- Strong analytical skills
