It is due to this significant growth that we have created a new seat in London, for a Senior Manager in Macro Research, part of our Asset Allocation and Research Department. **Your new team**: The Asset Allocation team has the responsibility for the developing the fund's broad Investment Strategy, which includes recommendations for about a third of the fund's active risk budget. Currently a growing team of four, this position will involve both cyclical and thematic macro research, while also working with the local investment teams for European transactions. As it is the first of its kind in the office, not only will you work closely with the team in Australia, you'll be helped and supported daily by over 50 people already in London. These teams include, Investments (Capital Markets, FICC, Infrastructure, privateCredit, & Property), Legal & Tax, People & Culture, Finance & Operations, and Technology & Risk. Our office is located in Kings Cross, one of the Fund's core assets, which is one of our two sizeable London development investments. **Your new role**: The role compliments the work of the rest of the Asset Allocation team, whose role is to develop market insights, economic insights and investment processes to support the fund's Investment Strategy, whilst also leading and developing the department's presenceinternationally. You'll become the Subject Matter Expert and go-to person locally for macro research, contributing opinions and ideas to the wider teams, from economies, geopolitics, energy, European cycles to support positioning and planning for the portfolio **Key duties include**: - Carry out cyclical, secular, and long-term thematic economic research. - Use this research to advise and support the Fund's decisions, across UK and Euro-area, for portfolio planning, as well as new and up-coming events that would affect any investments across our asset classes - Provide macro support for direct transactions in the US and Europe. - Contribute to the writing up of monthly strategy and investment research papers for internal committees - Take on additional research tasks as directed by Heads of Departments and sometimes the CIO - Develop, maintain, and add to all team reporting tools, from macro trends to financial markets **You'll need**: As a Senior Manager within the team, you should have significant exposure within the macro research, holding a considerable amount of responsibility. The role sits alongside very senior investment professionals, who have been working in their areas for morethan 15-20 years so experience working with Senior Directors at this level is a must. - Current or previous experience working within an investment firm and/or banking institution - Passion for all areas of macro research and investments - Ability to work in a small team, whilst capable of autonomous working - Relevant degree in Economics/Finance - Excellent communication skills with an eye for detail and deadlines - Advance use of MS Office, and other investment systems **What you will get in return**: This role presents a unique opportunity for a Senior Macro Research expert, in a fast-growing for-purpose fund, building a market-leading international investments operations platform, suitable to manage a predicted £500bn in AUM.
