**Tasks**
- ** The Role**:

- TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory is seeking an individual with a scientific or engineering background to join our Government Science Programmes Team. As a Specialist in this team, you will support the delivery of the Flow Programme, a collection of Development, Research, Documentary Standards and Knowledge Transfer projects, funded by the UK Government’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), to maintain and develop the UK’s National Flow Measurement infrastructure and knowledge and support UK industry and academia.
- Although sitting within the Government Science Programmes Team, you will work with scientists and engineers from across the business to ensure delivery of Flow Programme projects, including overall responsibility for our Knowledge Transfer activities undertaken as part of this Programme. Reporting to the Flow Programme Manager, the role will also involve supporting on a wide range of NMS and BEIS activities, such as metrics, strategy and horizon scans.
- ** Responsibilities and authority**:

- Support the development, delivery and continuous improvement of NEL’s Government Science Programmes
- Manage the Flow Programme (FP) Knowledge Transfer (KT) project, ensuring that all objectives are delivered, and the budget is appropriately managed.
- Work with the Technical, Sales, Business Development and Marketing teams to coordinate KT activities in order to deliver the maximum value, most efficiently, for the organisation.
- Support the Flow Programme Manager, and Director in the delivery of various NMS and BEIS activities and initiatives, and managing relationships and requests from the other laboratories within the National Measurement system.
- Support the Flow Programme Manager, Head of National Flow Standards, and Director, in administrative aspects of running the Flow Programme, such as project management, finance, production of reports for BEIS, organising of meetings, stakeholder management and related tasks.

**Qualifications**
- ** Qualifications and **Essential Criteria**
- A PhD/EngD in a scientific or engineering discipline
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Very high standard of written English
- Excellent communication and people skills, especially when dealing with a wide range of different stakeholders of varying seniorities
- A desire to constantly improve and the initiative to make new ideas a reality
- Be happy working in a distributed, multi-disciplinary collaborative team environment
- ** Desirable Criteria**
- Project management experience, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
- Experience of working with Government departments or agencies
- Knowledge of metrology, the science of measurement and uncertainty
