Our newly-established Digital and Design Officer post will play an important role in developing our digital communications and delivering the graphic design requirements of the team and the Trust.
The postholder will work closely with colleagues to communicate key messages in an accessible and visual way, by producing quality graphics and design for a range of print, digital and multimedia purposes. They will also act as a brand guardian for Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, championing the corporate identity and quality design work at all times.
The role will require experience of managing large-scale design projects from start to finish, the ability to work up campaign design concepts and develop these into effective design materials, and the ability to use the Adobe Creative suite to produce graphic design and video products and materials.

Design responsibilities
- Effectively support the graphic design requirements of Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (DHCFT) in line with the overarching communications strategy
- Work closely with all members of the Communications team to produce quality graphic design work for print, digital and multimedia use, including corporate reports, artwork for campaign development, flyers/leaflets, posters, and banners and graphics for the website/intranet, our social media platforms and display screens
- Develop detailed designed documents at short notice, with the ability to plan a number of design projects that could require a number of amendments before completion to meet the requirements of the project / design brief
- Communicate brand guideline options to DHCFT staff and act as a brand champion, ensuring brand consistency across the Trust
- Monitor the use of the Trust logo and support a wider programme of brand and reputation management across the Trust
- Lead on the design of Trust publications, including the staff magazine and other corporate publications
- Support colleagues in the production of patient information
- Support the graphic design requirements of the wider departments (clinical and non-clinical)
- Co-ordinate design briefs with staff and external printers, working as the main person of contact for the design project.
**Digital media responsibilities**:
- Plan, film and edit videos on key topics, for use across internal and external audiences, using Adobe Premiere Pro or similar software
- Produce short videos to disseminate key information to staff working across Trust sites
- Provide and share expertise, advice and practical support to Trust staff on communication issues, digital media and on the development of digital communication plans
- Take photographs using the team’s digital SLR camera, ensuring consent is given and recorded
- Produce and edit videos of Trust services, staff and patients, in line with consent requirements.
